What we do
The Platform Project is an innovative non-profit organisation based in Swindon, that helps disadvantaged and vulnerable young people develop the skills, confidence and experience they need to launch their career and take sustainable steps towards a thriving future. We work closely with local authorities, education institutions and local employers to bridge the gap between education and employment so that young people can overcome challenges and become work ready, capable, and confident entry level talent.
Our unique concept of a 'training workplace' provides an accelerated development environment for young people to access real workplace experiences. The live, structured and practical business-based projects help them break down any barriers they may be facing that are preventing them from transitioning into and succeeding in further education, paid work or self-employment. Our nurturing and flexible ethos encourages young people to develop their passions into professions and build their CV with real, work ready skills, enabling them to thrive in a professional environment. Our proven development model introduces young people to a range of different career skills and youth led business options resulting in an 89% success rate.
For Schools and Youth Providers:
We support schools and educational institutions to develop students by offering experience-based projects that engage them in their next step options.
For Young People (16 - 24) not in education or employment:
We run enterprise challenge weeks and employability coaching programmes, which feature advice, guidance, and hands-on, project-based experiences in a ‘training workplace’ to equip young people for work.
