ALTERNATIVE PROVISION FOR SCHOOLS

Helping your students develop and thrive

Our Alternative Provision for schools and youth groups is run like an internship development programme and is designed in partnership with a range of industry leading professionals to look and feel like a full-scale workplace so that young people can build up their work-ready confidence whilst boosting skills and CV at the same time.


Our youth led business projects provide real, hands-on experiences across several different vocational roles, including various digital skills, project management and self-employment we also focus on creative wellbeing and personal development.

What we do

The Personal Enterprise Project 

This project helps you launch a business by helping you SOLVE a problem or meet a need.

S = My Start up (Business ideas, Researching pros and cons, Business planning, My team & supporters, Business names, Entrepreneurial thinking (and talks)

O = My Offer (Working and communicating with customers, My product / service, Delivering quality and a USP, Managing the fulfilment process, My business skills and development needs, My visual branding (logo and web)

L = My Leads (Building a customer profile, Marketing and advertising, Sales and pitching, Picking a route to market, Managing new leads)

V = My Value (Financial models, Choosing a pricing strategy, Managing profit margins, Invoicing and using software, Tax and compliance (insurance / HMRC etc), Growth goals and increasing sales revenue)

E = My Employability Experience (What went well and what could be done better, What I would do differently / improve, What I have learnt (skills and reflections), Feedback and testimonials, Results achieved, Experiences to use in CV and interviews, Likes and dislikes from the experiences undertaken, CPD plan for any resulting career interests)

The Online Publishing Project 

This project uses the iDARE publication to build your skills and experiences:

D = My Digital skills (Animations and illustrations, Videos for vlogging and You Tube broadcasting, Website and blog management, Graphic design and page layouts, Podcasting)

A = My Article publishing skills (Blogging, vlogging and online writing, Writing and pitching article content, Journalism and interviewing skills, Editing skills, Writing styles, Publishing plans and writing time management)

R = My Readership marketing skills (Sponsorship, advertising and sales, Marketing content online, Readership subscriptions, Digital marketing & SEO, Campaign management)

E = My Employability Experience (What went well and what could be done better, What I would do differently / improve, What I have learnt, Feedback and testimonials, Results achieved, Experiences to use in CV and interviews, Likes and dislikes from the experiences undertaken, CPD plan for any resulting career interests)

The Social Impact Project 

This project focuses on you learning how to SCOPE a project to deliver social benefit:

S = My Social impact (CSR & civic action / civic voice, Ethics in business, Using your skills for social good, My Passion Project (things I can do)

C = My awareness Campaign (Identifying my audience and key points, Choosing a channel / medium to use, Making videos, Delivering talks, Using social media and marketing)

O = My CSR Opportunity (Identifying my own values, Seeking volunteering opportunities, Work related skills / experiences developed through volunteering, Teamworking opportunities in volunteering, Finding jobs with meaning & impact)

P = My project Plan (Project scoping, Project / event planning, Project communications, Project goals & timescales, Project stakeholders)

E = My Employability Experience (What went well and what could be done better, What I would do differently / improve, What I have learnt (skills and reflections), Feedback and testimonials, Results achieved, Experiences to use in CV and interviews, Likes and dislikes from the experiences undertaken, CPD plan for any resulting career interests)

Blended attendance options

Full day £100 per student* Additional costs may apply


Students can attend our Dorcan office up to 3 times a week 10am-2.00pm and must be enrolled with us for a minimum of one term. Year-long options are also available.
